Amy Morgan serves as our Senior Associate Pastor, with primary responsibility for Service and Nurture. Her passion in ministry is helping people find ways to use their unique gifts and abilities to do significant ministry. One of her greatest joys is empowering ministry teams to meet the real needs of people as they share God’s love. Amy is an ordained elder who has served churches in North Georgia for over 35 years, both a lead pastor and as a staff associate. After attending Young Harris College and LaGrange College, Amy pursued her M.Div. degree at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She earned her Doctor of Ministry degree in 1999 from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur. Amy has served on numerous conference and district committees. She had the honor of being chosen to preach at Annual Conference in 2008 and served as a Head Clergy Teller at five Annual Conference sessions. Amy has taught Worship and Sacraments for multiple years in the Emory Course of Study School and has twice taught Preaching in the Advanced School. Amy’s husband, Dan, is retired fire chief who currently serves as the Director of Emergency Management for Rockdale County. They have two grown children. Hannah, a nurse, and her husband Brandon live in Columbus where Brandon serves as an Army pediatrician at Ft. Benning. Jarrett lives in Atlanta and is a camera operator for the film industry. Their granddaughters, Lillian and Eleanor, are the light of their lives and Amy’s favorite hobby!
