Oak Grove United Methodist Church is happy to welcome Bishop Larry Goodpaster as Bishop in Residence. Ordained as an elder in The United Methodist Church, Bishop Larry M. Goodpaster served as a pastor and district superintendent in the Mississippi Conference. He was elected to the episcopacy in 2000 and assigned to serve the Alabama-West Florida Conference, where he served for eight years before moving to serve the Western North Carolina Conference in 2008. He was president of the Council of Bishops from 2010–2012. A Bishop in Residence is a retired bishop who worships and serves in a local church. Bishop Goodpaster is an excellent resource for teaching, preaching, and discipleship.
