Beth LaRocca-Pitts is the senior pastor at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She has served the North Georgia Conference as an elder since 1984 as the pastor in charge of the Bishop Circuit and at Watkinsville First (both in Oconee county), as the senior pastor at Saint Mark UMC in midtown Atlanta, and as associate pastor at Snellville First UMC, and Athens First UMC. Beth also has a PhD in Old Testament studies and has taught at Duke Divinity school, UGA, and at the Candler School of Theology in the Contextual Education and Course of Study School programs. She is currently a delegate to General Conference for 2020 and has served on many conference boards and agencies. Her husband Mark is also an elder in the North Georgia Conference and the pastor of Bethelview UMC in Cumming Georgia, having served many years in hospital and hospice chaplaincy. Mark also holds a PhD in Old Testament Studies (They met in Grad School). Beth and Mark have two children, twins age 20, Ellie and Joe. Ellie attends Georgia Tech and Joe attends Georgia State.
