Staff Profile

C.J. was born and raised in Gwinnett County where he attended Dacula High School, Dacula United Methodist Church, and played sports at Dacula Park. He recently graduated from Emory University, Candler School of Theology with his Masters in Divinity. C.J. comes to Oak Grove UMC from St. James United Methodist Church where he has served throughout his time in grad school. He began working in youth ministry in 2016 at LaGrange First United Methodist Church while attending LaGrange College. C.J. has discovered a passion for building relationships with others while inviting them into deeper relationships with God. He is a firm believer that the youth are not the future of the church, but the church of today. Nothing brings more joy to C.J. than watching young people truly comprehend that nothing can separate them from the love of God. When he is not working, C.J. enjoys walking his dog, Biscuit, on the Beltline, going to Braves games, and exploring Atlanta!
