Montclair Blessing Bags meets every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in Youth Hall to pack over 100 bags of weekend food for students at Montclair Elementary.

Wellroot Family Services (formerly the United Methodist Children’s Home) serves children in need of a safe and nurturing home through their Family Housing Program, a residential program for older teenagers called TLP/ILP (Transitional Living and Independent Living), and through their Foster Care Program. Wellroot has an urgent need for foster families as well as for volunteers to support the families caring for children in their homes

Smart Lunch/Smart Kid provides lunches for children in our community during the summer. Volunteers meet to assemble sandwiches at church on designated days. We work with Action Ministries in providing this ministry.
Angel Tree provides gifts to make Christmas brighter for local families. We work with agencies and ministries like DFACS and the United Methodist Children’s Home
Toco Hills Community Alliance is an organization about neighbors helping neighbors in Northeast Atlanta. Primarily this is through providing food – both a common meal and groceries – and clothing. Oak Grove volunteers are needed to stock the pantry, help serve meals, provide support to those picking up groceries, work in the clothes closet, and through food and clothing collection (including It’s Spooky to be Hungry).
Mobile Soup Kitchen provides food for people experiencing homelessness. One team of volunteers makes sandwiches on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 in Fellowship Hall. Another team delivers and serves sandwiches along Ponce de Leon Avenue on Fridays starting at noon.
Feed My Starving Children OGUMC prepares over 100,000 food kits for distribution to children in low resource areas around the world.
It’s Spooky To Be Hungry involves our local neighborhood in collecting food for local food pantries and ministries. Volunteers collect, sort, pack and deliver food.
MLK Service Day is a volunteer opportunity in which Oak Grove participates each January in the City of Decatur’s MLK Service Days event providing home repair to low-income seniors and disabled veterans.
Domestic Mission Teams assist communities within the U.S. by providing light construction and building relationships with low-income seniors
Mountain View is a personal care home for senior citizens throughout the Atlanta metro area. The mission of this facility is to provide an affordable home with all-inclusive quality services and care. Residents can have peace of mind and maintain their dignity in a safe environment. Oak Grove members support this home financially and by visiting the residents, leading them in many activities, providing monthly foot care, and by our Circles continually giving donations of needed items. Feedback from Mountain View’s leadership and staff has been overwhelmingly positive throughout the years. We have played a critical role in facilitating many successes at the Home.
Wesley Woods is a retirement community for older adults of all income levels that is a healthy and fulfilling experience. OGUMC partners with Wesley Woods to provide funding for care for people with limited resources and through fellowship with the resident
Breakthru House works to transform the lives of women 18 years or older who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. The ministry provides a long-term residential recovery program to empower them to experience physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
The Wesley Foundation at Georgia Tech, also known as Tech Wesley, is the United Methodist equivalent of a local church on Georgia Tech’s campus. Tech Wesley is a home away from home for students, where they can build friendships that will last a lifetime and grow closer to God in a loving community. Oak Grove partners with Tech Wesley by providing dinner each semester for the students on Tuesday evenings, followed by worship and communion. Oak Grove has also provided financial support for the growing ministry of Tech Wesley.  For more information about Tech Wesley, visit their website (gtwf.org)
Caring 4 Clarkston (C4C) is a monthly youth ministry food and baby supply pantry that serves the people of Clarkston – refugees and other residents in need. Our youth run the pantry. Adults are needed to drive church vans and provide administrative support. C4C started in September 2011 serving 30 families. Today we serve approximately 100 families a month!
New American Pathways helps refugees from arrival through their journey to citizenship with proven pathways to self-sufficiency and success. Oak Grove volunteers provide assistance with apartment setup, basic needs, community orientation and learning English.
Villa International is a ministry of Christian hospitality that provides short term housing for international researchers at the CDC and the Rollins School of Public Health, but also includes many others, such as public health professionals, interning doctors, seminarians and missionaries needing health care. Volunteers are needed for local transportation, planned activities, community dinners, and sharing in international fellowship.
International Mission Teams assist communities outside the U.S. by providing light construction, building relationships, and offering a Vacation Bible School for local children.
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR): Provide funding and health kits to assist people recovering from disaster 
Early Response Team: OGUMC has individuals trained to provide early response after disaster.
